Texas State Railroad has several options to choose from, Book your Escape, Polar Express and Camp Historic. Currently all rides depart from the Palestine, TX train depot. From August-22-19 to October-26-19 it departs from the Rusk, TX train depot. I would go for the Polar Express. One of my favorite movies around the holidays. Polar Express starts in November. They give you logo mugs, hot chocolate and cookies. The Book Your Escape is year around and is a 4 hour ride that offers comfortable seating, food and adult beverage service, kid friendly snacks and beverages. They have First class, Deluxe coach class, open air coach Sky, High Observation dome and Presidential class. The historic narration during your rail journey that takes you back in time. You will travel through Piney Woods and 135 years of history. Campground at Rusk is in the piney woods near Rusk. Campers have access to depot amenities which include lunch, gift shop and movie theater access on train departure days. Campsites with water only, water and electricity and full RV hookups.
